An enlightening talk covering the experiences of early settlers and convicts travelling to, and arriving in, Australia during the 18^th & 19^th centuries. Although very different their reasons for taking up residence in The Colonies, lives of those early settlers and convicts would often overlap as they found themselves dependent upon each other’s skills and knowledge.

Lynne’s 5 years’ experience of working in a heritage homestead outside Canberra fuelled her passion for the subject. Since retiring from her career in the criminal justice sector, Lynne has made a successful second career as an author and public speaker. She has just finished the first in a trilogy of historical murder mystery novels set in New South Wales’ pioneer era.
