A licence for a Community Radio Station covering the Shaftesbury and Gillingham Area has been submitted and it is hoped it will be on air sometime in 2020. We are setting up a Community Radio Group for members who may wish to get involved. Groups may want to make programmes about their specific area of interest and/or members might wish to develop the skills needed to make general, topical radio programmes and features – whether they want to create current affairs content, report from local events or make one-off, ad hoc articles on any aspect of local life. Free training for any residents of the SP7 and SP8 areas will be available.
